Name of Assignment: Sociology 100 Test 1 Subject: Sociology Professor:Jacquelin Perry
Description of Work/Assignment: We were told to study for a test. This was for a college class that is all about sociology. This test was 6 weeks into the class, so we had a basic understanding of the field. This test contained 15 multiple choice questions, and 4 mini essays we had to write. All was due within 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? I used self-directional skills because I was able to set goals for myself and complete them. The goals I set for this test was to study 1 hour every day for a week. Another goal was actually finish the test in time, and I barely completed that goal with only 2 minutes left out of the 90 minute limit.
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why? I am proud of the fact that each of my 4 essays exceeded 160 words. I am also proud that I completed it before the 90 minutes were finished. I finished my test with only 2 minutes to spare.
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment? I developed my self directional skills by creating helpful goals. I'm positive that if I hadn't made these goals for myself, I wouldn't have finished my test in time. I also prioritized this test compared to other classes since there was such a heavy grade attached to it.
What was most difficult about completing this task? The most difficult thing about this test was mentally preparing for it. I was really scared to press the start button. All my friends mentioned how it was too hard for them which didn't ease me.
How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do different? If I could start over I would read my study guide more. I only it the day of the test but I should have studied it at least 2 days before the test.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past? I have had tests in school, but never in a college class. This test felt like a Unit final even though we were only 25% done with the course.
How can you apply this to future learning? I can use my experience to mentally prepare for future tests. I can also read my study guide earlier and more often, if I have one that is.
