Name of Assignment: Project Shuffle Progress Slideshow Subject: Junior Seminar Facilitator/Teacher: Mrs. Lindsey, Alexander, Wilson and Mr. Adam
Description of Work/Assignment:Make a slideshow that contains updates and show the progress we have made for our Junior Project
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why? I used self directional skills. I had to start my junior project from the ground up and had to teach myself music making, because I had no knowledge of music production prior.
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why? I am very proud of the fact that I was able to communicate my goals clearly to the crowd in a way that made them decently excited to listen to my music (as seen in the feedback they gave me after class)
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment? Going into this project I was convinced that my mentor (Johan) would teach me the fundamentals of music production, but he was too busy with college classes, which left me to work on my own for a while. I used this time to teach myself basics of music making and how to release a song.
What was most difficult about completing this task? The worst part of the presentation was showing the entire class a snippet of a song. I was very embarrassed, and wasn't sure if anyone would like it. But I had no choice because the grade required me to show it.
How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do differently? If I could redo this presentation, I would spend more time rehearsing my talking points prior to presentation day.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past? I'd argue that it doesn't relate to anything I've learned in the past. I have used self-directional skills, but never on a project that I am very very passionate about.
