I really valued the different terms I learned while doing my research. There were least 5 different terms that I learned the meaning of including “net income” and “annual premium”. I found it valuable and very interesting. A lot of that is because I had a little help and insight from my parents who has a lot of knowledge to share with me which made this project and the research I did much more engaging. Something I would've liked to learn more about were better ways and tactics to save money, but we are now diving into that subject more.
There wasn’t one specific thing that surprised me, I was more surprised by how many things we pay for that I take for granted. Almost everything I’ve been accustomed to is considered a premium which has a value and a price. My parents pay for water, electric, car, health, phone, personal subscriptions. Unlike my parents, my starting salary was not able to pay for everything I would have wanted, and I new that beforehand. This job (music composer/arranger) requires you to keep publishing your work and keep researching and learning music to get better and eventually ounce you have proven you got the skill you can get noticed by bigger and better paying job position
I built my financial skills by choosing and scouting the best, cheapest and most comfortable appliance, prices, subscriptions that I could find to not suffer a huge financial loss but to also not be detrimental to my life style and living conditions. By Literacy skills, I researched and applied my research I did on writing checks and learning definitions of certain words/terms. And also learning what were the proper ways to use each term.
